Original abstractA crockery basket for a dishwasher includes a base frame having a base surface provided with an edge that is raised on at least one side. The crockery basket reduces the risk of injury caused by pointed elements and/or cutlery which project in an upward manner, in particular if the pointed end thereof if arranged towards the top, e.g. forks, steak knives, etc. As a result, the raised edge exceeds at least the height of the pointed elements of the cutlery basket which project in an upward manner and, optionally, the height of the cutlery which are pointed towards the top at least in a cutlery basket.
