Original abstractA matting construction includes a multilayer thickness for supporting at least a user thereon, the multilayer thickness may have an outer layer which enables a user to ambulate without slipping thereon; a compressible layer for absorbing at least a portion of the weight of the user, and a peripheral frame member disposed between the outer layer and the compressible layer. The peripheral frame member may be disposed at an angle from the horizontal and the frame member is fixedly attached between the outer layer and the compressible layer.
